THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

First thing first...please do not expect "Joker" in all batman films.

But again The Dark Knight was just a shade better (maybe again the Joker effect) than this one except this is a visual extravaganza(the film shows that it is a 250 Mio film).

I am a huge fan of Dark Knight franchise, but believe me this is the first of the film I saw in a movie theater, and ...WOW..what an experience. The Dark Knight Rises is the conclusion the trilogy deserves. It is the movie that was needed to end this trilogy, it's the movie that Batman fans will appreciate, relish and love for years  to come as they have with the earlier 2 installments.

When Selina(Catwoman) says "A storm is coming, Mr. Wayne."  It was quite eminent that we should strap our seat belts for a roller coaster ride of all you can expect from a near perfect movie directed by one Mr. Christopher Nolan.

One Comment in IMDB that explains a lot
"Whereas Batman Begins was a David and Goliath story, The Dark Knight was a duel, then The Dark Knight Rises is war"

Here Batman is less of a Super Hero and more of a Leader who leads the mass from the front (Political touch?). In TDKR he is more human and more prone to weakness than ever before.Bane is less of a super villain and more of a terrorist who meets a very unglorified end.

I will not talk about the performance but Tom hardy needs a special mention.Though Comparison with Heath Ledger is unavoidable, I feel he had competed well (Heath Ledger had an author backed character). But again you cannot compare between Pizza & burger. hats off Mr. Brady.

Some points i must mention about the things i did not liked:
1. Bane had a very very unglorified ending. He deserved better.
2. There for no need for the Twist in the end that Miranda is Ra' Al Gul's daughter. If Bane had been his son there would not have been much difference
3. I did not liked the BAT (Bat Plane)

To sum up
Christopher Nolan has finished up the Batman series in remarkable style. Where Batman Begins was about conquering fears and the Dark Knight was about traversing the fine line between order and madness; the Dark Knight Rises seems to be a movie about compromise and acceptance (IMDB).
This movie will stir your emotions. fulfills your urge for action/SFX. Satisfy you hunger for a good movie.

Mr. Nolan - Can we expect TDK4 or ROBIN........

FAULAD KI AULAD

ROWDY RATHORE

1st thing 1st , if you are looking for serious movie please avoid this one. If you are looking for serious entertainment, please immediately book your tickets.

A worthy remake of 2006 Telugu Hit  "Vikramarkudu"( V). At times RR seems to be better but again there is 6 yrs time gap. V established Ravi Teja as superstar, RR is surely going to resurrect Akshay Kumar's sagging  career.

Akshay Kumar matches/exceeds the mass effect of Ravi Teja, Sonakshi Sinha reprises the role of a desi girl with charm but she is no Anuskha Shetty.
Full masala with many cliches (most times deliberate), Old school action, dialogues (like Faulad Ka aulaad etc) are really fun to listen, Good cinematography (for a change no foreign locations) and no substance makes it a really enjoyable 2hr 10 min ride. It is entertainment at level best. The movie do has a great re- watchable value.

Raving dialogues, vivid background and unabashed heroism of Akshay Kumar makes Rowdy Rathore a hardcore crowd puller following the footsteps of Dabangg. If first 3 days collections are to be accounted, it is well in contention for competing with Dabangg in the Box Office.

Well on the other hand the music is pathetic, and sometimes you do feel you know what is going to happen next (well it maybe with me as I had already seen Vikramarkudu & Siruthai - Tamil remake).
Before I end some dialogues from the film

1)Sau saal zinda rahene ke liye sau saal ki umar
jaroori nahi, ek din me aisa kam karo ke sau saal
tak duniya tumhe yaad kare.

2) sher do kadam pichche jata hai, dar ke nahi,
zapatne ke liye.... DON'T ANGRY ME.

DONNIE DARKO (2001) DIRECTOR'S CUT (2004)

Warning - before reading the below, please watch the Movie.

You can't help writing anything about it when :
IMDB says the plot to be

" A troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a large bunny rabbit that manipulates him to commit a series of crimes, after narrowly escaping a bizarre accident."
The Tagline Says
"Life is one long insane trip. Some people just have better directions"

This is n
ot the review of the movie but a kind of introspection into the characters and happenings portrayed in the movie.

Donnie Darko as a movie explores the unexplained yet the explained side of human nature and life in total. Characters are humane with a dark side attached to them. It explains the natural phenomenon of life in a supernatural way. The song from the film " Mad World" explains it all.

Characters depicts all shades of human emotion. The story depicts all shades of social emotion.

Confusing as it sounds can be clarified once one explains the movie as per one's own understanding.

One can consider Donnie Darko as a protagonist who manipulates his fate by sacrificing his life for his loved ones or it can be explained that "time and life" will follow its own path whatever it may take or whatever you try to avoid it.

The movie keeps many things unexplained(purposefully) to have your own interpretation of what happens.

Donnie calls his mother a "b@#t*h" yet again he saves her life giving his own.

Is Donnie a hero who save lives giving his own or he is just a weak human who commit
s suicide to avoid the pain of living a life without his loved one's.

The movie also explains (unexplains) time travel. Pre destination paradox has been depicted to accuracy without any technical explanation.

Is Donnie an angel who saves lot many lives ???
Is Donnie an evil who takes many lives for his survival ???
Is Donnie just a human like all of us ???

BHOOL BHULAIYA

So fa the BEST Movie of the year. Individually there is no special aspect of the movie. It is not the best thriller, not the best comedy... not the best horror...not the best of technicality. BUT it is the combination that works. The movie has agreat repeat viewing value. You can watch the film over and over again.

Akshay Kumar at his best. By far one one of his best performances ever. He has evolved as an actor over the years. Completing his record spree of 4 consequetive super hits with this movie he holds the film together.

Vidya Balan was good in her role. She looked fabulous in the song.. mere dholna.

Shiney Ahuja was the only negative point of the movie. He was too loud for his role. His dialogue delivery seemed to be forced.

All other characters whatever small with a special mention of Rajpal Yadav (as Chota Pandit) did more than justive to their characters.

Music was good. The theme song is one of the most rocking songs of recent times. Mere Dolna was a refreshing classical song ( it somewhat vanished from mainstream Bollywood films) and sung well and presented exceptionally well.

Over and all it would give it 8.5/10.

It is must watch movie. If you have missed it make sure to watch it.

SAAWARIYA

BLUE - GREEN & GREY describes the movie best

BLUE describes the music that flows like river. One of the best music of recent times. The most important is the usage of the music in story telling. The background theme music mystifies the feeling.

GREEN describes the freshness of all the characters of the movie. Starting from Ranbir Kapoor to Zohra Sehgal - All looked fresh in the movie. Each and every character has been given importance and that is something special in the film

GREY describes the pain, sorrow and agony the character goes thru. Be very sure they are not black but in subdued manner of black. You can feel the pain the characters go thru.

The Movie holds up because of fantastic music, one of the best cinematography, Great acting and good direction inspite of a common & not so great story line.

Ranbir Kapoor shows the genetics of Rishi Kapoor & Neetu Singh. He is the most promising newcomer after Hrithik Roshan. Great Actor, dancer and a stunning looker.

Sonam Kapoor is good. But she need few more films to brush up the rough edges. She reminds you of Tabu in her earlier films.

Rani Mukherjee has done justice to her character in most convincing way.

Zohra Sehgal was best in the movie. At a ripe age of 96 she still have the JOSH in her.

Salman Khan had basically nothing to do in the movie.

Overall 7.0/10.

OM SHANTI OM

1St half of the movie can compete with the best comedy movies. But the 2nd half was too bad & predictable (infact it was a rip off from KARZ by 90%).

Shahrukh Khan - Hope he will never show his bare 6 Packs ( Urrggghhh!!!!) again... it never suits him. his acting has been good. Specially in comedy roles he was fantastic.

Deepika - looks good. Not much chance to act. She had nothing to do but look cute and she had succeeded in it.

Shreyas - Good in 1st half. But doesnot look convincing as an old person. He should not act in such type of movie.

Arjun Rampal - Avoidable. Totally wasted his capability.

Kiron Kher - too Loud for ears. Can cause ear drum damage.

Opening sequences has been too good in fact one of the best.

Overall 5/10. Additional 1 for Mix of old Bollywood Actors like rishi Kapoor, Sunil dutt, Rajesh Khanna & jeetendra in the songs & Akshay Kumar in the Filmfare award function.
